Episode #98: Owning Your Privilege And Standing In Your Power With Andréa Ranae Johnson (Bonus Replay)

PODCAST BLOG PHOTO (64).png

On this bonus episode, I’m bringing back one of the most downloaded episodes of the podcast to highlight an incredibly potent and powerful conversation with activist, educator and facilitator, Andréa Ranae.

Andréa Ranae is a vision-led facilitator and coach who believes that together, we rise. She is deeply committed to doing her part in cultivating a world that works for everyone and does so by placing her work at the intersections of personal growth, social justice and conscious business.

We may have recorded this in November 2018, but the state of the world is the same now as it was then (and for many many years before when it comes to racism in this country).

Things we discuss in today’s episode:

  • The pitfalls of personal development

  • How to be a true activist

  • Where to start when it comes to making change

  • Oppression — especially when it comes to racism, ageism, transphobia, sexism etc

  • A profound way to look at privilege

  • Cultural individualism

  • White privilege

  • Creating space to have emotion about the state of the world

Episode #78: I Chopped Off My Tits | A Solo Episode

PODCAST BLOG PHOTO (41).png

This week marks the year anniversary of my preventative double mastectomy.

And it also marks the launch of my new book, I Chopped Off My Tits.

It’s been a pretty surreal time in my life and I’ve been spending so much of it in reflection, and I wanted to share my heart with you all this week around what the last year has meant to me, where I’m at now and what I’ve learned most around fear, trauma, hard AF decisions and vulnerability.

Warning: I get super teary eyed on this one.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for taking this journey with me.

I love you all more than I can say.

PODCAST BLOG PHOTO (12).png

To kick off a new month, we’re deep diving into everything get to know yo’ self because, let’s be honest, through all the mess that life brings, we can move further and further away from who we truly are, deep down.

One of the ways I love deep diving into getting to know myself in a deeper meaning is through personality tests and when I really took a deep dive into the Enneagram this past fall, I knew I needed to bring on an Enneagram expert to dish all the goods. And that’s why I’m SO excited to introduce Sarajane Case to the podcast today!

Sarajane Case is a writer, coach and speaker based in Asheville, NC. She's the creator of the Brave Collective - a membership community for people who want to create the life of their dreams from right where they are! She's the founder of Enneagram & Coffee and host of both Brave Radio & The Enneagram & Coffee Podcast!

Here are some things we discuss in today’s episode:

  • What the enneagram is and how Sarajane got into it

  • What makes the enneagram different from other personality tests

  • Embracing your shadow side

  • Using the enneagram as a tool for self awareness, deeper understanding of your partner and even bringing it into your work

  • An overview of the 9 types

  • How to use this tool as a way to grow and love ourselves more

  • How different types work together

  • Answering listener questions from our facebook community

  • Using the enneagram in business

  • How our types impact how we show up in the world and how we are perceived

Episode #22: Q&A: Morning routine practices, Nutrition, Values systems and more | A Solo Episode

PODCAST BLOG PHOTO (14).png

EPISODE SNEAK PEEK

"I was always trying to be this perfect, in the box, version of myself. And I wasn't exploring and breaking beyond those barriers, and allowing myself to dig deep as I have in the past few years."

Today's episode is super special to me for a few reasons.

For one, I have one of the most important people in my life on the podcast. I had the joy of getting to travel back to Canada for my 10 year high school reunion in June (does anyone else feel like time flies by SO quickly?) and three of my best girlfriends from all areas of the world and I spent the weekend at my lake cottage to start the bon voyage to the boobs celebrations.

It was such a magical weekend filled with love, laughter, goofy shiz and I had the honor of having my oldest friend, Caroline, flip the script and interview ME for this edition of our Solo episode series.

Caroline and I have known each other for over 15 years and while we have taken super different paths in life, she is hands down the person who knows me better than anyone -- so it felt only natural to have her on the podcast!

It's also super special because I chat about a lot of topics that I've never shared about on the podcast before, specifically my journey through high school and where I'm currently at with my nutrition and mindset.

Here are a few things we cover in today's episode:

  • Morning routines
  • Some of my must reads and how I choose my personal development books
  • How to ride the waves of life
  • My top 3 personal values at the moment
  • My personal mindset around nutrition and what I think of the trendy diets right now
  • How I healed my eczema
  • The high school me and how it impacted who I am today
  • Breaking free of the "box" and the bucket list life
  • My dream guest to have on the pod
